Frequently asked questions
- How many players do you need for Beat the Clock?
- From 4 to 16. Fewer and it falls flat, more and it drags, though nobody is going to stop you trying.
- Do I have to download anything?
- No. Beat the Clock opens in your phone's browser and runs right there: nothing to install, nothing to sign up for.
- Is Beat the Clock free?
- Completely. Every card, every level and all six languages, with no account and no paid tier.
- Why are the same cards used every round?
- That is the whole trick. In round one everybody learns the deck, so by round three a single gesture is enough for your team to shout the word. New cards each round would just be three worse games.
- How many people do you need?
- Four, so there are two teams of two, and it works up to sixteen. Past eight a side nobody gets to describe much, so make the deck longer if there are lots of you.
